RESEARCH PROFILE
March 2002 to present
From 2002 to 2006 I was Research Assistant in the
Biotechnology Research Unit at the International Center for Tropical
Agriculture (CIAT). I worked in the Molecular
Plant Pathology Group, which developed high-throughput methods for assessment
plant defense responses. I performed global transcriptome analysis using DNA
Microarray technology to study two different types of patho-systems: rice- Xanthomonas Oryzae pv. oryzae and cassava- Xanthomonas
axonopodis pv. manihotis. This
includes the application of several molecular techniques, such as subtractive
library construction, DNA sequencing, cloning, DNA Microarray construction and
analysis and Real-Time PCR analysis. Furthermore, I was part of the
Bioinformatics group at CIAT, working in the local platform installation to
perform sequence and gene expression analysis.
In 2006, I started my PhD thesis in theUniversity
of Perpignan working in
the gene expression analysis in an African strain of Xanthomonas oryzae
pv. oryzae during the interaction with rice at IRD (Institut de Recherche pour le Developpement) in Montpellier, France . In November 2009, I
obtained the Ph.D in Biology. Then, I had a first post-doc position from 2010
to 2012 in the department of biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology of
plants at EEZ (Estación Experimental del Zaidín, CSIC) in Granada, Spain. In
February 2012, I joined the Department of
Molecular genetics at CRAG (http://www.cragenomica.es/, conducting postdoctoral research activities in
the framework of the project “Regulatory roles of microRNAs in plant innate
immunity”. Since march 2015, I am PhD Associate at AGROSAVIA (https://www.agrosavia.co/), Colombia.
In 2006, I started my PhD thesis in the
